On Tucker Carlson’s show Thursday night, Mark Steyn angrily unloaded in reaction to the stunning not guilty verdict in the Kate Steinle murder trial.

A San Francisco jury found José Ines Garcia Zarate, a 48-year-old illegal immigrant with a second grade education and who had previously been deported five times, not guilty on charges ranging from involuntary manslaughter to first-degree murder – even though he admitted to shooting Steinle. Zarate has SEVEN previous felony convictions – and is still in the U.S..

Zarate shot and killed the 32-year-old while she was walking on a San Francisco pier with her father in July 2015.

He was found guilty of felony possession of a firearm, which carries a potential sentence of 16 months to three years.

Some time ago, the House of Representatives passed “Kate’s Law”. A fundamental aspect of the Kate’s Law narrative is that the shooting occurred in San Francisco, a sanctuary city that does not assist federal immigration authorities in deportation efforts. “Kate’s Law” was packaged with another bill targeting sanctuary cities called the “No Sanctuary for Criminals Act”.

The law intends to prohibit local governments from restricting or prohibiting the assistance of federal immigration enforcement. It would punish cities that disobey the rule by allowing sanctuary cities to be stripped of Department of Justice and Department of Homeland Security funding.

Despite being passed by the House, it has not been brought up for a vote in the Senate. Why? Because Mitch McConnell’s paymasters at the U.S. Chamber of Crony Capitalists don’t want it passed! This is another reason we’ve got to force The Stupid Party to give McConnell the broom!
