Visiting the memorials at Pearl Harbor must be a humbling and moving experience. I can’t imagine how it must have been for those men, trapped below. But I had no idea anything like this was offered to the survivors – what a beautiful idea. I’m sure many of them asked, “Why me?” when so many of their shipmates didn’t make it 1941. I guess, knowing they can join them may assuage some sense of survivor guilt, that they had lives and families that were denied to their friends. Thanks for posting this, Louis. I am reminded of the famous Kohima epitaph: “When you go home, tell them of us and say, for your tomorrow, we gave our today.”

The burial on U.S.S. Arizona is truly an amazing thing. I had no idea this was being done. My Cousin Mary sent the link and “B-Squared” also sent it several days later. It was serendipity that I got it from 2 readers. I thought … hmmm ;;; here’s my Veterans Day post.

My heart is here and very appreciative of your share. I stand for a linage of shell-shocked relatives of these wars and one who was damaged from a mine. The sorrow continues as every people and kind became part of this great union, and in their hearts, patriotic deeds that are all in God’s Will, carry the touch of our flag! 🙏🙏🙏🙏🙏🦅❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️🦅
